This Insight is the first in a series of models that examine the dynamics of population growth and decline in a simple environment.  It follows on from a series of four Insights that introduce the basic concepts of Systems Dynamics that start here.

The next Insight model introduces the concept of limits to growth and explores the more complex behaviour this generates.  The model can be found here. 

Show relation of birth and death rate over time, creating the elements of the demographic transition. This one is for Bangladesh. You can clone this insight for other nations, just plug in the new crude birth and death rates and find the starting population in 1960.
