Clone of Rumor Spread Reinforcing Feedback

Joshua John

Illustrative early-stage rumor model for a social feedback assignment. Active sharers start at 10. New sharers = 0.3 * [Active sharers] per day. More sharers generate more recruits, who become sharers: reinforcing loop R1. Run 10 days with a 0.1-day Euler step. This assumes a large reachable audience, no repeat recruitment, and no departures. Change 0.3 to 0 to represent completely interrupted recruitment. Values are hypothetical, not a forecast. Audience saturation, credible corrections, and reduced forwarding can weaken the loop.
